Coworkers

Both Bryan and I have desks in the office, each of which are in front of a window. That way we can stare out the window, which greatly enhances our ability to procrastinate. The downside of this is that Bean can't see out of these windows like she can in the others in the house - by standing up and putting her paws on the windowsill. Her solution is to just stand up and put her paws on our desks instead. Occasionally, she will do this while one of us is working, and it looks like we are discussing some very important project. The other day she did this with Bryan.

See, if you move this sentence here into the conclusion, I think it makes the whole piece flow much better, don't you?

It can be very distracting when you are trying to study or grade papers and there is this gigantic dog head in your peripheral vision like that. But we love her anyway!

In other news, it seems that we have found a new house, and will be moving in August. There are 2 windows in the office at the new house as well, so Bean will be able to continue to "help" us with our work.

Congrats on finding a new home! I'm assuming that Bean has given her seal of approval and will be more than happy to help start the packing process (cardboard boxes are so much fun)! LOL Hope she has a huge, fenced-in yard to enjoy when she's not busy in the office helping both of you. Congrats, again!

Judy -
Yes Bean's time is almost completely occupied by looking after us! For example, it is not physically possible for either of us to take a shower unless Bean is sitting right outside the bathroom door. Her work is never done!

The new house has a backyard about twice as big as the one we have now. That was a big selling point for Bean. Thanks for the congratulations!

Rebecca,
I know exactly what you mean about guarding the bathroom door! LOL Sasha will guard the door as well. She waits patiently (unless she thinks I'm taking too long and then she will tell me to hurry up) for me to open the door so she can come in and lay on my feet while I'm drying my hair. Trixie will come in to observe the whole hair drying/getting dressed process. Both will also get in the bathtub and check things out from time to time. Nothing is cuter than one of their precious little faces popping out from around the shower curtain!

Moving to a new place is exciting and I hope all of you will be very happy there! Be sure to keep us posted!

Not to worry Grandma Becker! There will be multiple padlocks around that fence before I let my Beanie baby into it. :)

Rebecca,

Just another suggestion...if you have a chainlink fence at the new place, make sure you use a heavy chain AND a good heavy duty lock to secure each gate.

We have a double gate on the driveway side of our house and found out that a lock by itself just isn't secure enough. A heavy chain and a lock did prevent someone from entering our backyard on New Year's Eve even though they damaged the gate trying to get access.

We live in a neighborhood with very few homeowner-occupied houses and surrounded by about 800 apartments on three sides, so safety and security are very big issues with us.

Becky, about the bathroom thing. I too go in just to make sure tht mommy is okay but when she says "did someone call TJ" I know it is time to go out and wait for her. One day Carmel, the girl dog next door was visiting me, went in the bathroom where mommy was...before mommy could say get out...Carmel jumped in the shower with mommy. All 3 of us laffed...
