Friday 5:43 PM

OK now Bryan is going to check out another stray someone called in about. He is getting really good at this, and thinking of changing careers and working for animal control.

About tomorrow...

A very smart friend had a very good idea. Let's have 2 "meet ups," one in the morning at 10, and one in the afternoon at 1. This way people who can't do both can do either one or the other, and people who can help the whole time will have time to get lunch, reconvene, and just catch their breath.

So THE PLAN is:

Meet us tomorrow at either 10:00am or 1:00pm (or both) in Northgate Park. It should be easy to find us. The park is not that big. From there we will distribute supplies (thanks to the nice lady who left 2 cases of bottled water on our porch!) and figure out who is going where. There will be a pep talk, and group hug, and then we will head out and flier the crap out of this town.

Thanks!

I won't be able to help canvass tomorrow, but I've printed up a bunch of all three flyers. I'll bring them by in the AM.

Another idea - if still needed, I *might* be able to get some flyers into newspapers delivered in the area. Very much a *might*, but will keep you posted.

I'll be there at 10, Petey and all. I'll try to get flyers printed out but I may not have access to the printer until later in the afternoon. But, I'll come with cheese and hot dogs!! Oh, and quick question - so far, all the sightings of Bean have been with her collar *on*? Just clarifying! Thanks!

Just ran across a website - www.dogdetective.com

Didnt see Bean registered as lost - they will send out e-notices and have other tips for lost and stolen dogs. Says its free for stolen dogs.

Anyway worth a check when you have a minute -

The car poster seems to open fine on the three computers I have access to. I am using Acrobat Reader 8. You may need to reinstall it using the link below the flyers.

Ok, this morning Petey and I managed to get posters up all over East Campus, at the apt. complex across from East, up Urban Ave, down Trinity Ave, at the trail, at Trinity Park, and at all the apt complexes on Trinity between East Campus and Duke and the ones on Duke St between Trinity and Markham. Hopefully that will help - some folks didn't seem to know but were very interested, and a bunch stopped me and asked if there had been any news. So, word is getting out there! Please keep us all informed about leads or whatever we can do to help!

I hate to raise this possibility, but if you don't find Bean today, perhaps the eye witnesses were just mistaken and she hasn't gotten away from the creep who took her.

Forgive me for being non-PC for a moment, but if this is the case, a strategy might be appealing to the churches frequented by people of the same ethnic background as the creep. If he still has her, someone like his grandma knows it, so taking the fliers to where the grandmas gather might work.

Also, let's up the reward. If you open a PayPal account, I'm sure I'm not the only one who will donate to increase the reward.

That being said, I'm really hoping you've already brought her home today!!!

I agree with anonymous' post about the possibility of Bean not getting away from the idiot who took her out of the car or maybe she is with someone who is planning on keeping her. I will also contribute to her reward fund - maybe this person will step up if the anty is high enough!

If you are driving up Murray Avenue from Roxboro Road and turn to the right before Farthing or Shenandoah, there are some apartments that are in disrepair and a lot of people hanging out - has this area been covered? I drove down Rockaway yesterday and spoke to a young man and gave him Bean's flyer. Rockaway is right near Durham Regional and at one of the ends of the trail.

Okay, my partner and I went door to door talking to people and handing out English/Spanish flyers as appropriate in the following areas today -

Right off Gregson down Urban up to Watts, right down Watts to Markham and then right back towards Gregson.

Also the full length of Clarendon door to door from Markham to Club. Then down to Carolina from Club down past Knox to house #923 on the right when we ran out of English language flyers.

We also got flyers posted up (Spanish/English combo flyers) at the following locations - LocoPops on Hillsborough, the Tienda on Hillsborough at Trent, and the big Carniceria La Superior on Roxboro near the Post Office.

200 or so flyers later we are out, but hope this helps.

I had an idea while we were out walking and talking to folks today -

what about taking a stack of flyers to the local cab companies to try to get them into the cars with area cab drivers? They drive all the time all over town - maybe they might see her.

Just a thought.

Yeah, I also thought it would be a good idea perhaps to get some flyers to the University for the bus drivers, the SAFE ride drivers, and campus security cars.

I wonder if the city would put flyers up in the bus system?
