Wednesday 3:41 PM

No sightings. This is an update on Bean and the media.

1)Bryan tells me that she should be in the News & Observer tomorrow, and that she is on their website now.

2)I had placed an ad in the Independent to run both in print and online for 2 weeks. It shows up online, but was accidentally left out of the print version this week!!! I called and the guy says he will give me a refund (don't care) and will run it for an extra week (please God don't let her still be lost in 2 weeks!!). The nice thing was that when I prompted him about which ad I was talking about by saying "It's about a red dog named Bean..." He said "Oh yeah! I know all about Bean, I have seen her photo everywhere around my neighborhood." So that's good. The fliers/flyers are working!!

3)Bryan is going home now to work on calling radio stations to see if they can put out an alert. Maybe it can go into the list of possible material for radio talk show personalities to play with. You know: "easiest way ever to earn $1000!!" or "Don't want to go to work today? Call in sick and look for this dog. You will make more money than you would have at work anyway!"

That's all for now.

Melissa, have you posted flyers at the grill at the Hillandale Golf Course? I was riding around Indian Trail area today looking for Bean (armed with french fries!) and thought this might be a good place for her to go. I haven't read all the posts so I am not sure where you live - is it Northgate Park? I also looked at the other side of Farthing - there are lots of open spaces in that area. Thinking of you, Bryan and Bean. Wendy

Wendy,

Bean has not been spotted that far west yet, but it does sound like a tempting place for a dog to go. I'll have to check it out. I just wish she would show herself somewhere so we could have a better idea of where she is!

French fries??!! Man oh man, you'd better be careful there. I might run up to you and hop into your car if you wave a french fry in my direction!! :)

ps- we live on Orient St. It's a very short street between Washington and Trinity, very close to downtown and the old ballpark.

How about a Have you Seen Bean? poster in everybody's car window? Just that phrase, Durham, a pic of Bean and your phone number. Maybe the blog site if we can fit it on. The words need to be large enough to be read from a short distance away - like at traffic lights. I will make one, and post on my personal website. Give me an hour or so and I'll post the URL here.

This is Pimm's (from the Dog Blog Roll) mom.

I was really distressed to hear that your girl is lost. I can't even imagine what you must be feeling!

Hang in there. I have total faith in Bean's determination to find you. She will not let go of you without a fight.

i'm heading out tonight for a long walk with my dog - past the northgate dog park, by the museum of life and science, up to rock quarry park/tennis courts... i'll be looking for bean the entire time!

I keep hoping that you hear good news. Too bad you couldnt get a blood hound to track her scent. They do it for missing people. Doggies like Bean are just as important.
I am praying for all.

I made a Bean car window poster, and you are all welcome to use it. It's a PDF file, and you can get it here:

http://www.pctraininggirl.com/bean.pdf

If you don't have Acrobat, you can download it for free at:

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

This way, even if the other flyers have to come down, you'll have moving flyers all over the city!

I have created a "Have you seen Bean?" flyer with reward and phone number. I'll distribute them in the Watts Hillandale neighborhood. If you would like a .pdf of the poster email me at kdmichaels@verizon.net

Those flyers are great - I'm definitely going to put one in my car window and maybe throw some up around East Campus tomorrow!

I'm praying hard that little Miss Bean makes her way home soon. I have a pit mix as well and certainly know how they capture your hearts. Have you checked the Orange County shelters as well (just in case someone didn't know the Durham Shelter). I know there is one in Chapel Hill and one in Mebane.

I have a friend whose pit mix got out of the fence and for 3 days was MIA. She eventually showed up at the shelter, so don't give up hope.
