Sleeping Beauty

Here is another photo of Bean. As you can see she is still sleeping most of the time. This time she is on the bed.

Go away. I'm sleeping.

I did however get her to at least raise her head this time, so that you all can see that she is not dead:

Please leave me alone.

I am happy to report that her stomach has settled down, and we are adding the dry food back into her diet. I am also happy to report that I passed my psychiatry exam!

Also, I feel that I have been done wrong by the press. From reading some of it, you would think I didn't even exist! It is bad enough I was left out the photos for the paper, I am also barely even mentioned in any of them.

I would just like to point out for the record that I am the one who wanted a dog, I am the one who picked Bean, I am the one who is on the official adoption papers, and (most importantly) I am the one who created and maintains this blog. There is some reference to "Bryan Proffitt's blog" somewhere. Please give me URL. I would love to see this blog, because as far as I know he doesn't have one.

This is kind of a sore point for me, as you can tell. Why? Because when I started this blog 3 years ago, Bryan was mortified. He laughed at me. I think his exact words were "What kind of a nerd makes a website for her dog?"

Who's laughing now, baby?

And here I thought it was Bean's idea for the blog! :-)

Congrats on doing well on your psychiatry examination.

Once Bean wakes up from her beauty sleep, can't wait to see more active photo's of her and you! :-)

All I can say is I am so glad YOU started this blog. I am looking forward to many more posts and lots of pix of Bean.
And Congrats on your test.
Now I am going to enjoy my son and grandson. They are here from sunny CA to visit us in COLD MI.
I will have my whole family together this weekend, only happens maybe once-twice a year.

Love the pictures of Bean! She is REALLY catching up on all that beauty sleep she missed out on! Poor baby! What an ordeal to go through! I'm so glad her stomach has calmed down as well. The pumpkin will do it every time! Our two babies (yes, babies, because that's what they are to us as our human kids are grown and out on their own) love it as well as yogurt. Ours eat it right out of the spoon, too (that's all they get as too much causes other nasty problems to deal with)! I'm surprised she had a tick - in February! Ick!

Try not to let the press get to you. I'm personally glad YOU started the blog and I have read everything from the beginning until now and look forward to seeing many more pictures of your family and hearing about your adventures. Even though we don't know you, we feel a connection through your blog and have a genuine love for all dog-lovers and their babies. So, don't let what others say keep you from continuing the blog! When we weren't out looking for Bean and putting up fliers, I was absolutely glued to it for any updates and just cried tears of joy when you posted that Bean was home.

We got such a kick out of you indicating that you would astro-turf the spare room and drag in some potted trees! I can imagine that she has hardly been out of your sight since her return - and rightly so! I would be glued to her night and day! Hard to put a big baby like that in your pocket, but I'm sure you want to just to make sure you can watch over her and protect her from harm. Undoubtedly no dog has been searched for more than Bean in our fair town and I have to feel that through YOUR blog, people came out in droves to look for her and put up fliers. She is loved far and wide and I am so thankful that YOU rescued her so early in life. She will always love you even if she does show Bryan more attention when he's around. You and Bryan are her world. Thanks for sharing her with us!

I have a feeling that you will make a most excellent doctor because you have the most important quality - compassion for others. You'll get an A++++ in bedside manners, something which is sorely lacking in a lot of doctors these days! Good luck with your studies and I'm glad you passed your exam! And again, don't let the press get to you!

She'll probably sleep for a week. We are so glad she is home.

Wait...were there stories & photos in the news yet? Please post link...

BTW, we know who the wordsmith is, and without the words, the story would never have been told, community wouldn't have gathered, etc., etc.!

Congrats on the exam, the fundraising, the successful blogging, and mostly, mostly congrats on Bean's safe return home!!!

I know what you mean about the news article in the paper, I was most disappointed not to see a photo of all of you, esp. you. This is the greatest blog ever, and I loved reading it, long before Bean's awful adventure. I could not agree more with Judy that you will be a fantastic doctor - you have the biggest heart in the world, and the smarts to go with it - an unusual combo. Thanks for enriching our lives with Bean's story. xox, Betsy

Just a reminder from the city - this was probably sent to everyone who emailed them:

It is great news that Bean has been found and returned home safely. Now those flyers on utility poles are going to look tattered and torn. I need everyone to mobilize to quickly remove all the flyers from utility poles.

Sincerely,
Bonnie Estes
Assistant Director

Staples on utility poles create a hazard for workers - their spikes can slip on them - so lets do the best we can to clear them off now that Ms Bean is home and napping...

This is in such poor taste.

Who cares? Stop whining about petty bullshit and be thankful you got your dog back safely.

Seems to me like you didn't learn anything throughout the entire ordeal...

Ah, leave it to the press to get the facts wrong.

Yes, as it turned out, it was a good thing you had a blog up and running when Bean disappeared. Perhaps you could email the url to the editor of the newspaper or perhaps the person who interviewed you.

Congrats on passing your exam during such an intense time.

This shouldn't be a contest about who gets more media exposure for chrissakes. I can't imagine caring about this at all unless your dream has always been to appear in the N&O. Personally I am just glad Bean is back. I don't really care about who signed the papers or who started the blog.
