Friday 8:56 AM

Sorry about the rapid-fire posting this morning. I just won't be near the computer for awhile once I leave to make the rounds of all the vets/shelters.

Here is an important link:

http://pctraininggirl.com/teambean.html

This is the TEAM BEAN resource page, created by the talented and wonderful Kelly. It has all 3 fliers (English, Spanish, and the Car flier) available to download. If you have access to a printer and copier PLEASE make as many copies of the flier as you can to bring to the meet-up on Saturday. We think it will be at 10:00 AM at Northgate Park in Durham. More info will be posted as the day goes on. Things that you should bring (if you can) include:

1) as many copies of the flier as you can make
2) bottled water (enough for yourself and maybe a few others if you can swing it)
3) Leashes/Collars (for when you find her. If you find her and you don't have a leash, just grab whatever part of her you can get your hands on and yell like crazy for help.)
4) Maps of Durham
5) Comfy/warm clothes and walking shoes.

I think that's it for now. Hopefully she will turn up today, and we can just change tomorrow's meet up into a Welcome Home Bean Celebration!

This is a silly long shot, but I was at the PETCO at Southpoint, and someone had posted a flier about a found Pit Bull. There was no picture or any information at all. I jotted down the phone number, just in case it's Bean. Like I said, it's a ways from where you're looking, but if it were my babies, I'd have wanted to try anyway. (sorry for the spelling-out-thing. I feel weird even posting it...) nine-one-nine-six-nine-nine-zero-three-six-eight or three-zero-four-two-nine-one-five. Good luck!!

What kind of treats does Bean like to eat (that we can carry with us- sorry Bean, no steak in my pocket!)And what word does she know them by? My dogs know the word "treat" but some dogs know the word "bone" etc...

Rebecca and Bryan,
I just got the info below in my email today and thought I would pass it along for your info. Any help in getting the word out about Bean missing is helpful. Am really hoping she will be found soon and back in the arms of her parents who love and miss her so much.

Welcome to Lostandpound.com, the fastest growing lost and found pet website in the country! We are writing to you today to invite you to become a part of a new initiative to help reunite pet owners with their lost pets. Nobody is in a better position than you to know the desperation, pain and frustration of a pet owner whose beloved pet is missing.

Lostandpound.com is a totally free resource that allows pet owners to post pictures and descriptions of their lost pets including the location where they were last seen. Upon entering this information, a LOST PET ALERT is sent immediately via email to a combination of participating veterinarians, animal shelters, police stations, media outlets, pet-related businesses and “neighborhood watch volunteers” within a 45-mile radius of where their pet was lost.

For example, after a pet owner in your area posts their lost pet’s information on Lostandpound.com, a LOST PET ALERT will be sent to you via e-mail and provides you with a computer printable notice and description of the lost pet that you can post in your office.

We are asking you to sign up your veterinary practice, shelter or pet-related business FOR FREE on Lostandpound.com. By signing up to receive Lostandpound.com’s LOST PET ALERTS you can help simplify and expedite pet owners’ searches, demonstrate your dedication to the pet-loving community in your area and generate loyal new contacts to generate goodwill among your neighbors, potential patients or possible donors. We also invite shelters and rescues around the country to use Lostandpound.com as their posting website and alert system for all found pets that come to your facility...again, FOR FREE.

In addition, your business name will be listed on our website as a participating volunteer, which will cut down the number of calls you and your staff regularly answer from distraught pet owners searching for their pets. Please note that you will NOT receive spam or solicitations of any kind from signing up on Lostandpound.com. Our email lists are private and never for sale.

Signing up is simple. All you need to do is click on the link below, fill in your information and then check your e-mails each day for notices of missing pets in your area.

My dogs both have Home Again microchips, and I just received an e-mail from the Home Again company about "a pet lost in my area"..and it was about Bean. Your call this morning was well worth it!! All pet owners in the area that have registered with Home Again will receive this email also!! Pet owners unite to find this poor, lost baby!

Judy - I just signed Bean up at LostandPound.com

Desiree - It is possible we already called these folks, but I will double check and call them if it is not who I think it is. Don't feel silly for posting it! This is the kind if info we need! :)

Kelly - Bean likes cheese and hot dogs (can be raw) the best I think. I'm not sure what words she knows...she usually just follows us into the kitchen whenever we go JUST IN CASE we are going to get her a snack. We have used these words with her: "Chewie" "Chew" (for rawhides, she enjoys those too) "Cookie" and "Treat"

Anonymous - Thanks for letting me know that contacting HomeAgain directly is working!
