The dog found at Southpoint is NOT Bean. That dog has been taken to the animal shelter. I am trying to get out of class early so I can resume the search. I'm sending this from class right now, so I have to go. Just a quick update!

Hey Rebecca- I just got back home from searching the area. I went down your street and the streets around Trinity and Washington. I took my dog with me just in case. Hopefully she will be spotted soon. My mother-in-law in Virginia Beach said she woke up this morning with a dream that Bean was found today. She also had dreams that I was having a girl...I did..and other random stuff. But maybe this will hold true too! I am going to drop off a flyer with my homeless friends around the Southpoint area. They have 2 pits themselves and love dogs. I'm sure a nice reward would be motivational to them. I'll check in later! Jamie

Importance of leafletting. Last night I gave one of your fliers to some friends who live a few blocks from Northgate Dog Park. They had not heard about Bean at all. I'm sure the N&O article will be a great help, but it's still very useful to keep putting up posters or just telling people, especially dog-walkers. Some people will feed a stray dog but not capture it or call Animal Control--it's very useful to keep getting the word out to as many people as possible. As I mentioned in a previous post, I found my lost dog after 4 days just two blocks from my house--and only because the person who was feeding him saw a flier.

In response to the previous post, Heather's use of the word adventure really says a lot. No doubt Bean will be very glad to be home once she comes back, but she's probably having a blast, too. We love our critters like our own flesh and blood, but must remember their doggy nature.

I've got a Spanish language flyer for you. It was reviewed by a native speaker, so it should be okay. I will send to your UNC email.

Have you given a flyer to mailmen in the area? I know from delivering Meals on Wheels that they always seem to know what's going on in the neighborhoods and also to be aware of dogs. Good luck!

Rebecca, any flyers you want out there as a download, just send it to me. I can post it on my site. It's less work and much faster than emailing it out to individuals.
